Mac OS X brought a lot of changes to the Mac platform, some of them immediately welcome (stability, new possibilities, UNIX) some of them less so (performance issues, software compatibility, required changes to workflow etc.) As of Mac OS X 10.3, it’s fairly safe to say the platform is ready for the print workflow mainstream, and this course shows you how to understand and optimise your system for that industry.
By the end of this course you will be able to install and troubleshoot Mac OS X, set up user accounts and understand priviledges. You will also be confident in your understanding of all aspects of Mac OS X’s printing options, as well as some hidden more advanced functions. PDF in OS X is covered in depth and you will be able to make decisions with confidence about how best to produce PDF’s for your particular workflow. You will also cover more general aspects of Mac OS X such as networking, file sharing and working with the new Finder.
