This 2-day Introduction course will enhance your existing web-design knowledge by giving you a grounding in HTML5, the latest revision of the HTML standard. HTML5 introduces new features that allow designers to produce richer, more semantic code. We also cover the cutting-edge visual enhancements in the new CSS3 standard, giving you an insight into the impressive results that can be achieved by web professionals.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

- Insert the new DOCTYPE declaration in HTML5 documents

Course Target Audience and delegate prerequisites:
This course is intended for web designers with existing HTML and CSS skills who wish to learn about the enhancements available in the latest HTML5 and CSS3 web standards.
You will need to be familiar with HTML and CSS. Ideally, you will have taken our HTML & CSS Combo Essentials Introduction 2 Day course. A basic understanding of JavaScript would be helpful but is not essential.

The Old Broadcasting House is located at Leeds Metropolitan University on Woodhouse Lane which is easily accessible by car and from Leeds train station. If you are driving, the nearest car park is the Woodhouse Lane NCP multi storey which is close by.
Daily course times run between 10am and 5pm with an hour break for lunch and both mid morning and mid-afternoon refreshment breaks.

I had previously carried out this course many years ago, and left feeling disheartened as I struggled to keep up with the pace. However my experience this time has been completely different, I have understood everything and Alan was great at explaining things in a digestible way. Marek was an excellent tutor. He was very personable, very patient, and very clear with his explanations. His technical abilities were excellent and he exuded a sense that he knew what he was talking about and that he was the person to help us on our learning journey. This made it easy to trust him. For all courses in the London Centre the normal session timings are 10am to 5pm with an hour break for lunch. In addition to the hour lunch break there are also two fifteen minute coffee breaks mid morning and mid afternoon.
