Course Details
This 2-day Introduction to Affinity Studio course provides a complete, hands-on journey across Affinity’s three core workspaces: Layout, Pixel and Vector. Starting with the essentials, you’ll learn how to navigate the interface, manage documents, and work confidently with layers, typography, colour and assets. As you progress, you’ll develop skills in photo editing, vector illustration and multi-page layout design, building a solid foundation for real-world creative projects. On the second day, you’ll explore more advanced techniques including non-destructive editing, master pages, brushes, effects and cross-workspace workflows—helping you combine tools seamlessly to create polished, professional work.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Navigate and customise the Affinity Studio interface
- Edit and enhance images using layers, adjustments and masking
- Create vector graphics, icons and illustrations with essential drawing tools
- Design multi-page layouts using grids, guides and master pages
- Combine Pixel, Vector and Layout workflows for integrated creative projects
- Apply typography, colour and composition principles effectively
- Export print-ready and digital assets using Affinity’s advanced export tools
Our goal is for you to master Affinity Studio’s core and intermediate tools, enabling you to create high-quality images, graphics and layouts with confidence and efficiency across any creative project.
Course Target Audience and delegate prerequisites:
This course is intended for designers, marketers and creatives who are new to Affinity Studio and want to learn the interface and essential tools across photo editing, vector design and layout.
You will need basic PC or Mac skills, including a good understanding of your operating system. You should be able to launch applications, manage files and folders, and save or locate documents confidently.

As a bespoke course the date arrangement is based around your requirements and availability in our schedule. With your guide of when you are looking for the training we will advise suitable date options ahead of finalising the planned date(s).
Can the content be tailored to my requirements?
Yes we are flexible about tailoring content and can adapt to be fully based on your requirements, a mixture of content from different levels of our base courses or a base outline with some additional focus areas.
Can this course be delivered live online?
Yes we can provide the same bespoke course as a live online session connecting to you or your group with either Zoom or Microsoft Teams if preferred.
What is the cost to deliver the course onsite?
We are equally able to deliver our bespoke training onsite at your premises and the cost to deliver this is the same structure as classroom with the addition of basic expenses depending on your location. Onsite courses in and around London, Manchester and Glasgow are usually without additional costs.
Can the course include my work samples?
It is often possible to review and include consideration towards sample files however the main course content is usually structured around prepared examples which are best suited to the planned content and structure of teaching the required skills in the best format.
