Photoshop Introduction 2 Days
Course Details
This 2-day Introduction course helps you learn about the tools and features available in Adobe Photoshop. We will help you understand how this industry-leading program takes image manipulation to a new level. You will use the program's tools for painting, retouching, and enhancing images by using selections and layers.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Navigate the Photoshop environment
- Select parts of an image in several ways
- Enhance images by using Adjustment Layers and Smart Sharpen
- Understand tools used for painting and retouching images
- Fill areas with colour and gradients
- Blend images to create simple compositions
- Create type and produce simple adverts
- Resize images for the web and for print
- Add, adjust and style both text and layers
- Output artwork for the web
- Prepare images for print
Our goal is for you to understand the basics of adjusting and enhancing images.
Course Target Audience and delegate prerequisites:
This course is intended for digital artists and photographers as well as those who work for advertising agencies, design agencies, marketing agencies, production houses, and specialist corporate departments.
You will need basic PC or Mac skills, including a solid understanding of a computer's operating system (Windows or Mac OS). You will also need to know how to launch a program, create and save files, and copy files from CDs and other media.

This course is provided at the XChange Training London training centre based at:

EC1M 4BHSt John’s Lane is located in the heart of Clerkenwell close to the junction of Farringdon and Clerkenwell Road. Farringdon tube & train station is just a few minutes away and the training centre can also be accessed from Chancery Lane and Barbican tubes in about 10 minutes. There is also easy direct access by bus from Waterloo (243) and West End (55) with nearby stops.
Daily course times run between 10am and 4:30pm with an hour break for lunch and both mid morning and mid-afternoon refreshment breaks. We recommend arrival at 9.45am for registration on the first day of the course.

I really appreciated Doug's approach, which was to explain the concepts rather than just whiz us through likely exam questions (as I've had in other training elsewhere in the past!) He was very reassuring, clearly knew his stuff, didn't mind admitting the bits that were new to him, and was great in fostering an environment where we felt free to ask questions and digress on interesting topics. It was great.

This course definitely provided me with an introduction into the world of photoshop. As a beginner in the field, I can comfortably take what I have learned with Simon and apply it to my practise at home. I know that if I do have any issues, i can get in contact with ease. Phil was very engaging and knowledgeable. He was patient with questions answering immediately if necessary but holding back when appropriate as answers would come in at a more logical point. I really enjoyed the 2 day beginner's course, and although I had some knowledge of Photoshop, I definitely learnt a lot of new things. I also now understand why certain features work the way they do, and that you can combine multiple tools to create certain outcomes. I felt that I was able to ask any question and that Doug knew the answers, or if he wasn't sure, he tried to figure it out to help me.

What are the course times?
For all courses in the London Centre the normal session timings are 10am to 5pm with an hour break for lunch. In addition to the hour lunch break there are also two fifteen minute coffee breaks mid morning and mid afternoon.
