Course Details
This 2-day Introduction course helps you learn about the tools and features available in Maxon Cinema 4D, and is a great starting point for anyone with an interest in moving into the field of 3D design. Together, we will cover the fundamentals of creating and manipulating objects, animating scenes, and rendering the results.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Navigate the Cinema 4D environment
- Create and manipulate objects
- Import content from other programs
- Apply textures to surfaces
- Animate 3D systems
- Render scenes to produce the final output
Our goals are for you to create your own 3D designs and character animations, and for you to grasp both basic and sophisticated features of the program.
Course Target Audience and delegate prerequisites:
This course is intended for designers who have little or no experience of any 3D programs.
You will need basic PC or Mac skills, including a solid understanding of a computer's operating system (Windows or Mac OS). You will also need to know how to launch a program, create and save files, and copy files from CDs and other media.

This course is provided at the XChange Training London training centre based at:

EC1M 4BHSt John’s Lane is located in the heart of Clerkenwell close to the junction of Farringdon and Clerkenwell Road. Farringdon tube & train station is just a few minutes away and the training centre can also be accessed from Chancery Lane and Barbican tubes in about 10 minutes. There is also easy direct access by bus from Waterloo (243) and West End (55) with nearby stops.
Daily course times run between 10am and 4:30pm with an hour break for lunch and both mid morning and mid-afternoon refreshment breaks. We recommend arrival at 9.45am for registration on the first day of the course.

A great follow up to the introductory course - expanded on existing knowledge and explored more complicated functions in C4D's toolkit. Ricardo gave a lot of encouragement to experiment and have fun, while explaining the content thoroughly and clearly. Overall very enjoyable and insightful - lot's of new knowledge to take forwards into personal and commercial projects!

Great, comprehensive course that covered and de-mysitified lots of previously unknown or confusing areas of using C4D at basic to early-intermediate level. Out instructor, Ricardo, was very friendly and highly-knowledgeable, plus shared stories and examples related to each task based on in his own professional experience. Lots was covered in a short space of time without being over-whelming and everyone invovled seemed to have fun and be on the same level by the end of the two days. Very enjoyable!

Ricardo was a very enthusiastic and knowledgable instructor - he made it easy and fun to follow. Even after 2 days, I feel I have a much better understanding of Cinema 4D. He tailored the course content to make it more in line with what we do - animation. The only comment I'd say is prior to the training I had asked about our bespoke training to include how we can use Cinema 4D and After Effects together and best practice for workflow using the two programmes - which wasn't included in the course.

I found the Redshift course quite difficult to watch and follow along to at the same time. We kept asking our instructor to start again as we had become lost or confused. Which he always did. There are so many hidden settings to try and understand and even worse, to try and remember! A lot of these settings need to be activated in a certain order or will not work. It would be incredibly useful to have some kind of video reference to refer back to or provided notes that will act as a reminder. I tried to jot notes down as we went, however I doubt they will help me at all in a couple of months time. It is a very technical subject. Our instructor knew his subject inside-out and created some brilliant examples of how the tools can work and I have come away with a much broader understanding of the software. I just hope that I can remember how to use some of these techniques when I need them.

Ricardo was very friendly and patient. If we had any questions he was more than happy to run through them in detail and suggest different approaches, etc. His knowledge of Cinema 4D and all of its intricacies was especially amazing, even down to minor tweaks between versions. Overall a great experience!

The online training was a great option. It allowed me to learn on a one to one basis, which helped me develop my skills quickly and efficiently. I was able to follow the instructors screen and ask questions when I needed to. Ricardo was very knowledgable with the software and friendly.
