This 1-day Advanced course takes your existing knowledge of WordPress and enhances it with expert skills for theme customisation and attractive web design. Together, we will discuss the techniques used to maintain a fully featured website or blog. We will take a deep look at how themes work, including the use of template tags and conditional tags, as well as the all-important WordPress Loop. You will also learn how to download, activate, and deactivate WordPress plug-ins. Plus, we will show you what to look out for when searching for a good plug-in.

This course is provided at the XChange Training London training centre based at:

EC1M 4BHSt John’s Lane is located in the heart of Clerkenwell close to the junction of Farringdon and Clerkenwell Road. Farringdon tube & train station is just a few minutes away and the training centre can also be accessed from Chancery Lane and Barbican tubes in about 10 minutes. There is also easy direct access by bus from Waterloo (243) and West End (55) with nearby stops.
Daily course times run between 10am and 4:30pm with an hour break for lunch and both mid morning and mid-afternoon refreshment breaks. We recommend arrival at 9.45am for registration on the first day of the course.

The only slight feedback is that every once in a while the audio was a tiny bit laggy, apart from that the course was brilliant. Tim had extensive knowledge on every field we asked him about. There is no feedback I could give about the actual course because I learned so much. I will definitely be booking on to the advanced course soon.

It was so refreshing to have a trainer keen to help and go that extra mile. In the past I've had bad experiences with web developers/designers which brought me to wanting to learn myself - not necessarily to implement myself but to empower me with the knowledge to know what's possible and what's not. My saying is "if you don't know what you don't know, how do you know what to ask?". Tim's honesty and experience has given me the knowledge and empowered me to ask questions I didn't realise I should be asking a web developer/designer, and to know when they can't be bothered, don't have the skills they said they have, or charging too much. I now know where to find what I need, how to change things, how much time things should take, and what's possible. Everyone should do this course whether they want to design/develop themselves or outsource. Knowledge is power!

Really good training - very slow server speed and would crash when trying to upload some parts. Would make it easier for the trainer if this was improved. Trainer had very good knowledge. Would also be very helpful to use our versions of plugins - especially we dont use elementor - so some extra skills needed to use our own website

The course was very comprehensive and covered the expected subjects and a bit more to boot. Tim was clear and patient and it was easy to ask questions as we went along. A couple of times I got a bit lost (during the coding element) and Tim was quick to take the time to re-explain what had been talked about, which quickly got me back on track. I was engaged for the entire 2 days and not once did I find the content or delivery irrelevant or boring. I was very pleased the training was recorded and this is a big bonus for me.
